Welcome to the Geospatial Institute, where the intricate world of geospatial science and technology is explored and shared. I am Nicolas Malloy, a GIS professional with involvement in geospatial science and technology since 2007 and a dedicated educator at the university level since 2013. My journey in this field has been one of constant exploration, discovery, and imparting knowledge.

My expertise lies in a broad range of areas within geospatial science, including cartographic design, remote sensing using drone technology, computer programming, and geographic information systems. Beyond these technical realms, my passion extends to developing educational materials. I have designed award-winning college-level courses in geospatial science, catering to both lower-division and upper-division students, demonstrating my commitment to making complex subjects accessible and engaging.

In addition to teaching, I have authored several textbooks on these subjects. My role in creating these textbooks has been comprehensive, involving not just writing but also engaging in production, graphic design, editing, layout, and assembly. This ensures that they are not only informative but also aesthetically pleasing and user-friendly.

The Geospatial Institute blog reflects these diverse interests and areas of expertise. The topics covered in the blog include:

The Geospatial Institute blog is more than just a platform for information; it is a community for knowledge sharing, learning, and igniting a passion for geospatial science and technology. Whether you are a student, a professional, or simply someone curious about the field, this blog aims to provide insights and inspire exploration in this dynamic and ever-evolving domain.

Join me in this exciting journey of discovery in the world of geospatial science and technology.
